The 28-year-old immediately appears to be a fantastic addition for the Hammers.

Ward-Prowse has consistently delivered for Southampton over the last five or six years.

And it’s something Sam Allardyce envied when he took over at Leeds at the conclusion of last season…

Leeds CEO Angus Kinnear’s comments show West Ham has landed a fantastic bargain.
The Leeds manager has spoken up about something Allardyce told him about the players at their relegation rival clubs.

When speaking on The Square Ball Podcast, Kinnear mentioned JWP.

“We were devastated by the deaths of Kalvin and Raphinha. When Sam Allardyce arrived, he stated that the team lacked world-class players. Even the poorest Premier League sides have one or two world-class players, whether it’s Maddison, Ward-Prowse, or Tielemans.”

While calling Ward-Prowse world-class is a bit of a stretch, he is undeniably a top-tier Premier League player.

£30 million for someone who has averaged about 15 Premier League goals over the last three seasons is great value.

Congratulations to David Moyes for getting that transaction done.

Leeds CEO Angus Kinnear’s comments demonstrate just how good a deal the Hammers received by signing Ward-Prowse this summer.
