Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino made the decision to loan out Andrey Santos this season.
According to The Athletic, this is the case.
Andrey Santos, 19, signed a season-long loan agreement with Nottingham Forest at the end of August.
The adolescent midfielder was highly involved in pre-season and made the Blues bench for Premier League debut, but he’ll continue his development at Nottingham this season.
According to The Athletic, Santos impressed Chelsea throughout the club’s pre-season programme.
Pochettino is said to have been ‘eager’ for the Brazilian teenager to have regular first-team play away from Stamford Bridge this season.
Hopefully, he can impress at the City Ground and earn a spot in Forest’s starting lineup.
When everyone is fit, the fight for positions in Chelsea’s midfield seems quite fierce, therefore we’re fine with Santos getting game time at a Premier League opponent this season.
In July, journalist Simon Phillips stated on his Substack that Santos was setting the bar for Chelsea’s training with his efforts.
He’s a really versatile midfielder that we’re excited to see as the season progresses.
Let’s hope he’s one of the newcomers.

Chelsea considered a late move for Taiwo Awoniyi.
Chelsea pondered a late bid for Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi, but decided against it for the time being.
According to The Athletic, Chelsea considered a late move for Nottingham Forest Taiwo Awoniyi but did not make an offer. The 26-year-old Premier League striker may have piqued the curiosity of other clubs over the summer, and the Blues did require a fresh No.9 in their lineup.
After four games, Nicolas Jackson has yet to fully blossom as Chelsea’s regular striker. The former Villarreal man squandered a clear chance against Nottingham Forest, a game they eventually lost thanks to an Anthony Elanga goal set up by Taiwo Awoniyi.
The latter emerged in the news as Chelsea reportedly contemplated a late move for the 26-year-old Premier League striker. Before Nottingham Forest visited Stamford Bridge last weekend, Awoniyi had scored in seven consecutive league games but compensated with an assist for Elanga’s winner.
Chelsea may then have chosen against pursuing the striker, preferring to work with whatever options they had. On deadline day, they signed Cole Palmer from Manchester City. However, according to rumours, they may have contemplated a deal for Jadon Sancho before paying £40-45 million on Palmer.

Chelsea have needed a new no.9 since the summer transfer market opened, and many were surprised by their inability to find one despite spending heavily on new players. As things stand, they require a legitimate, well-known central striker.
They were also interested in Brennan Johnson before the Welshman joined London rivals Tottenham. The interest in Awoniyi seemed legitimate, given that the market’s options may have narrowed.
