Cesare Casadei, a Chelsea wonderkid, is ready to receive his first call-up to the Italy national squad.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport.
So, what is the most recent news on Cesare Casadei? Let us have a look…
What is the backstory?
The 20-year-old is yet to make his Chelsea debut after joining from Inter Milan for £12 million in August 2022.
Casadei was loaned out to Reading in his first season at Chelsea and has subsequently been loaned to Leicester for the 2023/24 season.
Nonetheless, the Italian is certainly doing well outside of west London, as Roberto Mancini has been made aware of his abilities.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Casadei will be chosen to Italy’s team for the October international break, with Moise Kean, Destiny Udogie of Tottenham Hotspur, and Nicolo Fagioli.
The Italy Under-21 international scored a late winner in Leicester’s 2-1 triumph over Cardiff on his debut, and he has also supplied an assist in his four games for the Foxes.
Cesare Casadei is a gem for Chelsea.
Given the overwhelming volume of wonderkids signed by Todd Boehly since succeeding Roman Abramovich, Chelsea fans must have easily forgotten about some of the numerous wonderkids he has signed.
However, we feel Casadei will leave a lasting impression when he finally gets an opportunity at Chelsea.
The Ravenna-born maestro is a very unusual midfielder with striker-like qualities, much like Frank Lampard.
Casadei even won the Golden Boot in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup earlier this summer, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in seven appearances from midfield.
The Italian also scored 26 goals in 66 games for Inter Milan’s Under-19 team, which is an outstanding performance from a midfielder.
If Chelsea manages to develop Casadei properly, the Blues could have the next Lampard on their hands.
