Many of the signings this summer caught the eye, but probably the biggest surprise was the arrival of Tyrese Fornah from the Rams’ bitter rivals Nottingham Forest.

“I’m overjoyed with the addition of Tyrese Fornah. He played a lot of games in the Championship last year. He’s a nice age, he’s got an engine, which we desperately needed in the midfield, so hopefully he’ll come through for us and be a consistent member of the team for a few years to come. So, yeah, I think it’s a fantastic signing.”

Will Derby make a solid signing in Tyrese Fornah?


The new player debuted as a late substitution against Peterborough and played the entire game against Bolton.

While that resulted in a defeat, Joe Wildsmith’s dismissal transformed the game, and Fornah gave his best in what was a difficult full debut.

But,

Fornah should be able to handle it, and he will want to demonstrate his abilities in the coming months as he seeks to establish himself as a key player under Warne. After failing to find a home at a club in recent years, this could be precisely what Fornah needs to start living up to his full potential.

What comes next for Derby?
The East Midlands team return to action after the international break with a huge game against Portsmouth, with Warne knowing he needs some wins to create momentum.

Derby’s three victories and three losses in the first six games show that there is still much opportunity for growth, and they will try to climb the standings in the coming weeks.
