Danilo of Nottingham Forest and Joo Gomes of Wolverhampton Wanderers were both dropped from Brazil’s U-20 national team selection.
According to the CBF, both players sustained injuries in their Premier League matches over the weekend and will be unable to travel for the international break.
Danilo suffered a left thigh injury against Chelsea for Nottingham Forest on Saturday, while Joo Gomes exited Wolves’ game against Crystal Palace with’strong pain’ in his right knee.
Brazil summoned up Fluminense’s Alexsander and Corinthians’ Gabriel Moscardo to fill their positions. The national team will play two friendly against Morocco, the first of which will take place on Thursday.
This is the so-called pre-Olympic national team, with players competing for spots in the squad that will be in Paris next year, so Danilo and Joo Gomes will undoubtedly be eager to return as soon as possible to demonstrate why they deserve to be on that list.
For the time being, there is no word on whether those players will have to be rested by Nottingham Forest and Wolves during the international break.

Nottingham Forest defeated Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, and Willy Boly cemented his place in the team.
Anthony Elanga scored three minutes into the second half to give Forest the victory.
The first clean sheet of the season, however, was possibly the most satisfying aspect of the triumph over Chelsea.
Boly was given another chance to start, with Moussa Niakhate and Felipe sitting on the bench.
The 32-year-old is in the final year of his City Ground contract and carries a plethora of experience with him.
Boly was a huge loss last season after suffering a hamstring injury in February. His absence triggered a sequence of winless games that threatened Forest’s Premier League status.
On Saturday, his performance went unnoticed. In actuality, Joe Worrall’s ingenuity was largely responsible, although Boly deserves credit.

The seasoned performer won five aerial challenges, the most of any Forest player during the victory.
He was also steady on his feet. He made seven clearances, four shots were blocked, and three tackles were won.
Forest defender Boly goes unnoticed during the triumph over Chelsea.
The Ivorian put up a fantastic performance, demonstrating why he deserves to play this season.
He also demonstrated his dedication to the cause. He appeared to take a knock at the end and was unable to walk thereafter.
Hopefully, that’s nothing too serious and Boly can be available to play in the next game against Burnley in a fortnight. The experienced player still has a part to play at Forest and long may this form continue for Boly.
