Wolves have signed Jean-Ricner Bellegarde on a five-year deal from Ligue 1 club Strasbourg.

For a fee of £12.8 million, the midfielder agreed to a five-year contract, which runs until 2028.

The 25-year-old can play as a central midfielder supporting a striker or in one of two wider positions.

Bellgarde, who once represented France’s youth team, arrived at Molineux with an impressive record of 129 appearances for Strasbourg.

He has made a significant impact in the current season, contributing with 2 goals and 2 assists in just 3 games. Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs said:

  • “He was the player that was noticed by the scouts at the end of last season and he has started this season very well.

“He’s fit, technical and has the ability to dribble, and you can see from his record in goals and assists that he’s had a great start to the season.”

Bellegarde began his professional career at Lens, where he made 47 appearances and scored six goals before embarking on a new journey with Wolves.
