After suffering just their third loss of the season against the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving, the Detroit Lions returned to the office on Monday. The Lions will now travel for two weeks in a row, starting on Sunday with a game against the Saints in New Orleans. As he does every Monday, Lions head coach Dan Campbell answered questions from the media. These are the main ones to emerge from that conversation:

After watching the tape, Campbell said the Packers game wasn’t as horrible as he had anticipated, even though he acknowledged that there were some clear mistakes they needed to make this week. No. 1 in turnovers according to Campbell’s ranking. In the past two games, they have turned the ball over seven times and have only managed one takeaway. According to Campbell, there is currently no other issue that is as important as fixing the giveaways and lack of takeaways.

According to Campbell, the second defender’s focus should be on gaining more takeaways from the football. While the first player must ensure that they wrap up and begin to bring down the ball carrier, the second and third players must focus solely on the football.

Overall, Campbell exuded a strong sense of confidence that his team would recover this week.

Campbell remarked, “Man, I’m not getting worried.” “I adore that. I mean it. I adore this, and I adore the fact that everything outside of our building is gloomy. With six left, we have a fantastic opportunity that I adore. I genuinely do. We discover that this is what makes us.

Due to an injury, linebacker AnAlex zalone had to leave the Thanksgiving game. On Monday, Campbell stated that Anzalone might be out “a little bit.” Anzalone is Detroit’s top tackler and a defensive captain. This defense would suffer a significant loss if he were to miss any time.

Due to a wrist injury, guard Jonah Jackson has missed the last two games.

and Campbell said he’s assuming Jackson doesn’t play until Jackson tells him otherwise.

The rookie third-round pick, who has been on the NFI (Non-Football Injury) list the entire season after tearing his ACL in his final collegiate season, has always been viewed by the Lions as sort of a redshirt year.

As per NFL regulations, Hooker has not been permitted to practice while on NFI. In order to work with Hooker at practice during the final six weeks of the season, Campbell stated that they might remove him from the NFI and activate him to the 53-man roster this week.

According to Campbell, there were a few occasions when they were caught off guard by the Packers’ d-line and failed to pass it off properly because they weren’t in sync. They occasionally set with an excessive amount of depth. He added that there were instances in which Goff needed to release the ball more quickly.

Campbell stated that they will gain knowledge from it. If Jackson is unable to play, they will have to switch to either Colby Sorsdal or Kayode Awosika at guard once more.
