Borna Barisic and Luka Modric have been international colleagues for long years, but according to rumours, they may also join Dinamo Zagreb.
The Rangers left-back is in the final year of his contract at Ibrox and there are reports that he could be offered a new contract or sold.
Borna Barisic has been one of our better players this season, but the possibility to play for Dinamo Zagreb with Luka Modric may be too much to pass up.
According to Barisic, Luka Modric may join him at Dinamo Zagreb.
When questioned about the potential of returning to where it all began, the Real Madrid captain told Sportske Novosti:
“Another trip to Dinamo Zagreb?” “I promised I’d return. “But you never know how things will turn out in life, or how intricate anything will become after everything that has happened within it.
“For such things, a lot of things would have to be arranged.”
“How realistic is it that Dinamo would want a player at the age of 39-40, and what sense does that even make?”
The Ballon d’Or winner seemed to like the notion of returning to Croatia but is unsure about the logistics.
Borna Barisic has until today to return home before Croatia’s transfer market closes, although the Scottish press claims there is nothing in the Dinamo Zagreb links.
However, initial speculation suggested that a January relocation was more likely.
If Ridvan Yilmaz hadn’t spent so much time on the sidelines over the last year, the senior Rangers left-back would undoubtedly be sold without hesitation.
As it is, Barisic will have to make do with playing alongside Luka Modric for Croatia for the time being.
