Ohio’s Cleveland Denzel Ward, a cornerback for the Browns who could miss games due to a shoulder injury, skipped practice on Thursday for the second day in a row as the team got ready for their game in Denver on Sunday.

Although Ward missed just two of the 58 defensive snaps in Sunday’s 13-10 victory over the Steelers, he sustained a shoulder injury.

Mike Ford Jr., Martin Emerson Jr., and Greg Newsome II will probably fill in as the third cornerback if Ward is unable to play. Due to rib and thumb injuries, Ford was sidelined on Wednesday but returned to full strength on Thursday. Due to a calf injury, Newsome was limited on both days.

The Browns are assessing Ward’s injury, which may include damage to his labrum. Naturally, they’re hoping he won’t be absent for a long time. Following safety Rodney McLeod’s season-ending biceps tear during the game, he sustained another injury. He will soon have surgery after being put on injured reserve.

Positive news for the injured secondary: safeties Grant Delpit (thigh) and Juan Thornhill (calf) both made a limited comeback to practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday’s session. Despite missing the previous two games, Thornhill intends to participate on Sunday. The Browns are relieved that McLeod is out, especially with Russell Wilson of the Broncos, ranked third in the NFL with a 104.3 rating and 19 interceptions against just 4 interceptions.

In other injury news, Anthony Walker Jr. missed another game due to a hamstring injury, and wide receiver Marquise Goodwin stayed out due to a concussion. Walker sustained the injury during the second quarter of the Steelers game, and Goodwin has missed the previous two games.
