Logan Sargeant is perhaps the driver with the biggest stakes at the moment, even though there are many other drivers who have races this weekend.

The only spot left on the grid for the upcoming season is the second one at Williams.

Alex Albon was aware in August 2022 that he would be competing for the British team the following year.

Sargeant had only been in Williams’s Driver Academy for a year when that happened, but after the previous campaign ended, he was promoted from Formula 2.

Sargeant wants to stay in Formula One until 2024 and beyond, but there are currently no assurances.

James Vowles, the team principal, acknowledged that he was impressed with the driver’s pace at Interlagos and that he produced an outstanding qualifying effort in Las Vegas.

Sadly, he was unable to turn it into his second finish of the season that would have earned him points.

It will be difficult for him to accomplish that in Abu Dhabi, but he must do everything in his power to ensure his spot on the grid for the following season.

Unfortunately, he missed the opportunity to earn points for his second finish of the season.

Driving-wise, I feel like things have gotten much, much better over the last however many rounds, and I’m just trying to do my best.

“I don’t see any issues with how it’s been going lately,”

Despite the lack of official confirmation, journalist Will Buxton revealed over the weekend that he anticipates Sargeant to remain with Williams on the Formula One grid in 2024.

With Felipe Drugovich staying on at Aston Martin, the team is out of options.

The only reason Williams are currently seventh in the Constructors’ Championship is the Thai driver’s form, but the gap between Sargeant and Albon may be concerning.

Sargeant will benefit from an extra year of experience, but he will face pressure to catch up to his teammate in the following year.

If not, one of the ten reserve drivers participating in tomorrow’s Free Practice may be eyeing his seat going forward.
