Even though Happy Valley wasn’t particularly excited about a dull Rutgers game, James Franklin & Co. were still busy in the recruiting world as National Signing Day drew near.

QB GOES UP IN RANKINGS ONE MORE TIME

The four-star Ohio prospect is currently ranked second in the Big Ten and eighth overall among quarterbacks by On3, only behind Ohio State commit Air Noland. Additionally, he moved up to the No. 102 recruit in the 247Sports Composite Rankings as a result. He was No. 745 on May 24.

Penn State’s Class of 2024 holds the No. 13 overall spot in the composite class rankings as well, behind only Ohio State in the Big Ten. Well, actually, Oregon is No. 6.

Walker is from Ellaville, Georgia, which hasn’t historically been a top destination for Penn State recruits. It will have to contend with Florida State, Georgia, Alabama, and other southern universities. The Nittany Lions are, in fact, the only team in Walker’s final cut that is located north of Columbia, South Carolina.

At Charter Oak in Covina, California, Arrington, a three-star recruit in the Class of 2025, plays both running back and linebacker. Alan Zemaitis, a letterman and recruiting coordinator, appears to be involved in Arrington’s hiring as well. In addition, he has offers from Oregon State, Colorado, Washington, and other schools.

Four-star edge rusher Darren Ikinnagbon, three-star wideout Shaun Terry, and three-star safety Josh Makai were among the visitors to the Rutgers game. Ikinnagbon, who weighs 225 pounds and is 6-foot-5, is someone to watch. With no other offers from Big Ten programs, Penn State appears to be in the early stages of his recruitment.
