When Ange Postecoglou arrived alone in 2021 and started working on the Lennoxtown training ground with the players and coaching staff he inherited, his “lone wolf” approach had come as a bit of a surprise.

After a year on the job, the former Socceroos manager brought in Harry Kewell, the face of Australian football for a generation that had failed to establish any traction in management.

when Postecoglou left for Spurs, but following his previous coaching setbacks, it appears that the former Leeds and Liverpool player has found happiness at Lennoxtown.

With Rodgers telling the Daily Record how glad he is to have a true elite player beside him on the practice field and in the dugout, Kewell appears to be content with a low-key backroom position:

Gavin (Strachan) and Harry weren’t familiar to me when I returned, but I had spoken with Harry at my house in the south before accepting the job. And I have to admit, his dedication to being here at Celtic and supporting our wingers is excellent, especially for a player who was a world class player in his prime.

He’s one of those former players who gives you that extra bit of gold dust. He benefits our team since he shares that with the players. He offers us an alternative perspective.

The coaches work with a set number of players on various aspects of their game. Every coach here puts in a tremendous amount of effort to support the players’ growth.

Working with the Celtic wingers, Kewell plays a unique role. Luis Palma’s recent performance indicates that he is definitely making an impact and carrying out his ideas.
