After suffering a devastating loss to the Detroit Lions the previous weekend, the Chargers are hoping to turn things around this Sunday. The Chargers will take on Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers on the road this Sunday afternoon.
The Packers are now 1-5 over their last six games and are beginning to feel like their season is slipping away after beginning the year 2-1. “Can Jordan Love be the quarterback of the future?” has been the narrative surrounding Green Bay this season.
The Packers may have the solution, despite their 3-6 record and only 2,009 passing yards, 14 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions this season. Love may be the quarterback of the future, but there have been moments this season when he has looked fantastic and unfit for the position. Chargers head coach Brandon Staley responded, “We need to stop Love from using his athleticism to stop making big plays,” when asked how they would stop him this season.
“Jordan Love is an extremely gifted athlete. He consistently makes huge plays. Despite the fact that this is his first year on the job, we greatly respect him.” Staley said. “According to the tape, he can make a lot of plays. He has accomplished that against numerous strong defenses. Therefore, we must be prepared to play.”
Staley continued to praise the Packers front seven, saying that with eight first-round picks on the defensive side of the ball, the group is rich in talent and has a lot of draft capital. The Chargers were expected to be without wide receivers Keenan Allen and Jaylen Guyton as well as tight end Gerald Everett earlier today.
