The red card that AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud received during Saturday afternoon’s 2-2 draw with Lecce has resulted in a two-match suspension.
The French striker will not be available for selection when Milan returns from the international break, as confirmed by Serie A.
He will miss two games: the first on November 25 against Fiorentina and the second on December 2 against Frosinone.
In the 93rd minute of the match against Lecce, with the score tied at 2, Giroud was given a yellow card. However, the referee quickly showed a second yellow card to him after deciding that his protests were excessive.
After the game, Giroud did apologize to the referee, and the rules allowed for a four-match suspension.
