Aston Villa playmaker Emiliano Buendia has posted an update as he continues his recovery from a significant knee injury that he suffered last month.
The 26-year-old sustained the bitterly disappointing setback on the eve of the Premier League season, in what was a major blow for us given how influential and important he has been since Unai Emery took charge last November.

As an almost ever-present presence in the Villa XI under the Spaniard, and having impressed in pre-season, Buendia would undoubtedly have played a big part this year as we try to compete on multiple fronts and for trophies, and so it’s been such a shame to see him miss out.

With Tyrone Mings also suffering a similarly serious knee injury just days later, it must have been a difficult period for the Villa squad to deal with and regroup, but it’s always a boost to hear from the players in question.

As seen in the image below posted on his Instagram account, Buendia shared a photo of his knee with the protective brace off, and while he still clearly has the bandaging on from surgery and is nowhere near even being given a schedule for his return, he added a caption of ‘little by little’, as he appears to be in good spirits. This will be crucial in the coming months as he is expected to miss most, if not all, of the current campaign. It is therefore essential that he stays close to the rest of the team and keeps a positive attitude during his recovery.

Having posted Instagram stories featuring him in our recent win over Everton, Buendia hopes to continue to make good progress and be able to feature before the end of the season.

Likewise for Mings, getting them involved at the end of the campaign if possible would be a big motivator, but for now, we continue to wish them a full and speedy recovery from their injury and maybe they can. are also important to each other throughout this process.
