The Raiders locker room hasn’t felt this good since head coach Josh McDaniels was fired, and this blowout win not only helped, but it also marked the beginning of Antonio Pierce’s amazing interim head coaching career.

For many in Las Vegas, Pierce’s first victory as an NFL coach was made much sweeter because it came against the team he spent the majority of his illustrious NFL career with.

Pierce played middle linebacker for the Giants for five years, during which time he was designated a Pro Bowl selection and took home a Super Bowl trophy.

Prior to that, he played for four seasons with the Washington Commanders, formerly known as the Washington Redskins, of the NFC East.

While the Giants were relieved that starting quarterback Daniel Jones had suffered an ACL tear during the game, the news coming from the other end of Allegiant Stadium was less than celebratory.

In the second quarter at Allegiant Stadium, Jones went down without making contact while attempting to sidestep Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby.

After his knee seemed to give way, the 26-year-old went to the ground. He was removed from the game after the opening play of the quarter.

“It seemed to give way, and he proceeded to run it off.” Giants head coach Brian Daboll stated, “We went over to him, we talked to him, and he said, ‘I’m all good, then went back in and obviously wasn’t.'” “We need to prepare the next guy,”

On the final play of the first quarter, Jones seemed to have injured his knee, and pundits even suggested that he seemed to have attempted to use the commercial break as an opportunity to relive the agony.

Pierce and the Raiders will make an effort to maintain the positive energy
