Mauricio Pochettino is back to his old haunts, and Paul Merson says that “for the first time in a very long time Tottenham fans are going to turn up expected to win” when Tottenham hosts Chelsea, who are currently in 11th place.

Glenn Murray reminded the former Arsenal midfielder that Spurs are “top of the league” after the former player’s shocking remarks on Soccer Special on Sky Sports (01/11/23 @ 7:15 pm).

For those at Hotspur Way, who are better off without Europe, the new season has started fantastically; the same cannot be said for its London opponents.

After falling to Brentford 2-0 over the weekend, Chelsea is now 14 points adrift of the Premier League leaders in 11th place.

You would think that Monday night’s victory over Ange Postecoglou’s team at Stamford Bridge would come as no surprise, but Paul Merson wasn’t.

The former Arsenal midfielder startled the Sky Sports panel with his remarks, as Glenn Murray reminded him that Spurs are “top of the league” in a statement made on Soccer Special on Sky Sports (01/11/23 @ 7:15 pm).

Hotspur Way, who are doing well even without Europe, have had a wonderful start to the new season; the same cannot be said about their London rivals.

Chelsea is currently 14 points behind the Premier League leaders in the standings after falling to Brentford 2-0 over the weekend.

It could come as a surprise to some if Stamford Bridge defeated Ange Postecoglou’s team on Monday night, but Paul Merson wasn’t one of them.

Then Danny Mills said to him, “Merse, I think you are on your own.”

“This is the first time in a very, very long time, trust me,” Merson continued, adding that Tottenham supporters will be showing up with the expectation that their team would defeat Chelsea. they should, as it’s the first time in a long time. However, the pressure is different now. They must attempt it.

And it’s fair to say that those shouts for Pochettino will now turn to boos on Monday night when he walks down that touchline again.

If qualifying had gone as planned, Verstappen, the only driver with race management skills comparable to his, would have undoubtedly maintained his podium run.

Verstappen seems to be performing at a higher level at the moment with his Red Bull, although Norris won Driver of the Day in Mexico for his outstanding performance.

He especially took pleasure in passing former teammate Daniel Ricciardo, who had a fantastic race as well.

His first priority right now must be winning a race, following a string of second-place results this season.

Regretfully, his McLaren is unable to regularly match Red Bull, owned by the Dutchman.
