After Dejphon Chansiri secured his services as Xisco’s replacement at Hillsborough, Wednesday’s new manager was introduced on Friday afternoon. However, he was alone in his presentation to the local media as talks over his technical staff moving forward are still ongoing.
Two of them, though, may have been hinted to by the presence of a few of his former coworkers, who were later seen on footage that was released from the event.
Given that they formerly shared an office at RB Leipzig, where the former served as a chief scout and the latter as a sports psychologist, the new Owls manager is familiar with both Sascha Lense and Benjamin Ehresmann. Since that time, Ehresmann has lived in the Netherlands and the United States, while Lense has worked for Manchester United under Ralf Rangnick.
The German refused to give specific names when questioned about who was coming in, simply stating that they were working out “government” issues and were hoping they would be resolved in time to play Watford, though The Star knows that both were present for Röhl’s unveiling.
Röhl stated that he would be bringing in a technical staff of four, with three of them being German and one being from the United Kingdom. It is unknown when the club will make their announcement.
On October 21, Wednesday will play Watford at Vicarage Road in his first game in charge.
