Daniel Jones, the quarterback for the New York Giants, exited Sunday’s game late after getting hit in the neck, but it appears like he will likely not lose any time.
Despite the fact that Jones left the team’s Week 5 game without playing again, Giants head coach Brian Daboll indicated on Monday that he is “optimistic” that the quarterback will be able to participate in next Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills.
The Giants saw little value in attempting to bring Jones back in after he was wounded late in a rout. The damage did not appear to be significant (watch the video here), but it appears the quarterback avoided any serious harm.
Jones has had a terrible 2023 season thus far, throwing six interceptions compared to only two touchdowns in five games. Jones has also been sacked 28 times over that period, which is partially attributable to some terrible offensive line performance.
The Miami Dolphins are coping with an injury to one of their most dynamic playmakers.
De’Von Achane, a rookie running back for the Dolphins, injured his knee during the team’s victory over the New York Giants in Week 5. This was revealed by head coach Mike McDaniel to the media on Monday. Achane is still being examined, according to McDaniel, and additional details will be made public later.
In the fourth quarter, Achane exited Miami’s 31-16 victory because his right leg had awkwardly twisted underneath him during the contact. Achane’s ankle was first thought to have been hurt, but the Dolphins now concentrating on his knee.
chane, a Texas A&M product selected in the third round in the draught, sat out of Week 1. In Week 2, he had just two touches. He may have been the NFL’s most thrilling player since then, according to some.
In Miami’s rout of the Denver Broncos in Week 3, Achane amassed 203 yards on 18 attempts and two running touchdowns. He scored two more receiving scores and four other catches for 30 yards. The speedster then shown that the performance was not an aberration by running for 151 yards on Sunday against the Giants and 101 yards in a defeat to the Buffalo Bills in Week 4.
Achane is averaging an insane 12.1 yards per rush during his first four outings. Although the Dolphins would probably play it careful with him, it would be a major letdown if he were to miss any time.
