On deadline day, the 23-year-old moved to Elland Road on a season-long loan as part of a transaction that saw Luis Sinisterra move the other way.
Anthony, who has played three times for the Whites since arriving, claims that the transfer surprised his family.
“It was a big shock for them on deadline day,” he said in an interview with The Official Leeds United Podcast [29 September, 11m 21s].
“Until the very end, they didn’t truly understand what was happening. They were waiting while watching TV, yet they were enthusiastic and supportive.
The Hackney ace is a well-liked teammate already, and as the season goes on, he is sure to play a significant role.
Even though Anthony’s transfer was fairly last-minute, it is encouraging to see that he has already adapted well and had an impact at Elland Road.
Leeds suffered a setback when Sinisterra left for Bournemouth so late in the transfer window, but at least they were able to sign Anthony as a replacement.
Since arriving at Elland Road, the former member of the Arsenal academy has had to wait his turn, making all three of his appearances from the bench of replacements.
Anthony made the most of his most recent cameo appearance by scoring Leeds’ final goal against Watford last weekend, helping them to a 3-0 victory.
