Not Fit To Face Carlisle, the Striker

Luke Norris, a striker for Swindon Town, will not participate in this Saturday’s crucial Sky Bet League Two matchup with Carlisle United.

On Easter Monday’s 1-1 draw with Crawley, the Reds’ top scorer was pulled off early because his shoulder popped out for the third time this year.

Although he has been officially ruled out of action for this weekend, Norris is adamant about continuing to play a role in Town’s Play-Off drive despite the fact that the full extent of the damage is not yet known.

At his earlier pre-game press conference, Town Boss Phil Brown stated, “Luke is coming to see me later regarding the shoulder.”

Luke’s contract is up at the end of the season, but mine is as well, so it is a tricky scenario. I’m only going to be here for a little while.

Because he is putting his body on the line and his shoulder has come out a few times, this situation is extremely tough for anyone to handle.

“It came out with the least amount of contact, and he is now wearing a sling, so he won’t be able to play in the game.

He doesn’t want to have surgery since he still has a contract to play for, so hopefully that will happen in the next five games but not on Saturday.

And Brown said that Olly Lancashire and Ryan McGivern are both healthy and ready to play after they both returned to the bench on Monday following their individual recoveries from injury.

The good news is that Lancs and Ryan McGivern, who had a demanding training regimen over the past two days and emerged uninjured, are both available for selection on Saturday.

“He’s another big lad staying in a hotel; hopefully, he’s playing for the long-term, but he’s in it for the short-term.”
