The Steelers’ players cast their votes, and the team captains for this season are safety Miles Killebrew for special teams, offensive linebacker T.J. Watt, defensive tackle Cameron Heyward, and quarterback Russell Wilson.
Wilson, who joined the team in the offseason, is the new captain of the Steelers, but he has held the position before. Wilson served as team captain for 12 years in a row while playing for the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks.
Heyward, a 14-year-old, is a defensive captain for the tenth year in a row, from 2015 to 24. Ben Roethlisberger (13) and Sam Davis (11) are the only two players in franchise history to have been named as captain more times than Heyward. Watt is the fourth team’s defensive captain.
