On Wednesday [20 September], during the first half of Leeds’ 0-0 draw with Hull City, the Italy international was taken off due to an ankle injury.

Gnonto’s “tateral ankle ligament” was damaged, according to Daniel Farke, but he was unable to specify when he would be able to play again. Instead, he said that Gnonto would definitely miss the match against Watford on Saturday (September 23).

However, The Athletic reporter Hay confirmed that Gnonto will be sidelined for at least another month in a Twitter post following the 3-0 victory over Watford at Elland Road.

Gnonto requires minor surgery, but it won’t be on his torn ligament; it will be on a bone, according to Hay. He won’t return until after the following international break.

large loss

Despite the fact that Gnonto’s layoff was always anticipated following Farke’s earlier in the week “bad news” confirmation of the severity of his injury, this development is still a significant setback.

The summer transfer saga involving Everton had finally begun to wind down, and the 19-year-old was just getting settled in.

Gnonto has only scored once this season, but he has put up some excellent performances and contributed significantly to the stunning 3-0 victory over Millwall last week.

With Crysencio Summerville on the left against Watford and Daniel James on the right, flanking Joel Piroe and Georginio Rutter, Farke has a wide range of offensive possibilities.

It is evident that United can function without Gnonto for the time being because Jaidon Anthony, who was a substitute, scored the third goal for Leeds in a 3-0 victory over the Hornets.

However, whenever that may be, Farke will be happy to have the Italian back.
