Georgia landed its 20th commitment for the 2025 class on Sunday when Bushnell (Fla.) South Sumter four-star safety Rashad Johnson announced his decision to play for the Dawgs. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound prospect committed to Georgia over Penn State, Texas A&M, Louisville, and 30 other offers. Johnson is the third safety commitment for assistant Travaris Robinson in the 2025 cycle, joining Valdosta (Ga.) four-star Todd Robinson and (Tenn.) four-star Jaylan Morgan. Johnson is ranked as the No. 24 safety and No. 33 overall recruit in Florida by 247Sports. The addition of Johnson strengthens Georgia’s No. 3 class in the 247Sports Team Class Rankings. Johnson had 59 tackles, six tackles for a loss, seven pass breakups, an interception, a forced fumble, and a sack during his junior season, catching nine passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns on offense. He had 51 tackles, five pass breakups, and two interceptions as a sophomore, with 13 tackles and an interception as a freshman. Johnson has also competed in track, with an 11.13 100 time, a 24.03 200 time, and a 22’5.25″ long jump, the latter of which qualified him for state championships.

Long-limbed boundary safety that plays a violent brand of football. Added over 20 pounds of muscle to a 6-foot-2 frame between sophomore and junior years and will enter college without needing much of a physical adjustment period. Has done a little bit of everything at the prep level, moonlighting as both a wide receiver and tight end on offense, but flourishes as a second-level defender as he flows downhill with authority and creates negative plays. Can be a bit of an adventure at times in the deeper third, but has proven to be a reactionary athlete that can handle underneath coverage responsibilities. Should be viewed as a potential multi-year impact player on Saturdays given the combination of his size, burst and mentality. Could fit into a variety of different roles, but looks like the ideal hybrid nickel defender in an aggressive defense. Will add plenty of value on special teams.”
