Former Alabama head football coach Nick   was at the 2024 ESPYs to give a speech to the crowd after winning the “Icon Award.” His daughter, Kristen  , sent a message about her father’s achievement, which eventually went viral on social media.

The legendary coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide helped bring six national titles to Tuscaloosa, a storied career that began in 2007 and concluded in 2023 when he announced his retirement.   will join ESPN’s College   as an analyst in 2024, beginning a new chapter in his life.

The 72-year-old was the epitome of an “icon” during his time with the Crimson Tide. He finished his career in Tuscaloosa with 201 victories while producing 47 NFL first-round draft picks.

During his speech at the ESPYs, Nick delivered one of his most famous quotes: “People aren’t going to remember what you say… They’re going to remember how you made them feel.”

“Sports bring people together better than anything. When we won the national championship in 2003 at LSU, I had [Reverend] Jesse Jackson come in and speak to the team. And he said to me, ‘Your team, on a Saturday night, in Tiger Stadium, is closer to the kingdom of God than my church’… The rules are clearly defined and everybody is together in spirit,'”  continued.

Following his daughter’s message, showing major respect to Nick, fans shared their honest opinions on the speech.

“So proud of your dad for all his accomplishments on and off the field,” said one fan.

The football guru expressed the motivational message to the crowd, and it seemed to have resulted in hundreds of heartwarming reactions.

“So so deserved and so thrilled for Coach Saban! Forever in our Crimson Tide hearts! A beautiful night and memory for the family,” said another fan.

Kristen’s post blew up online, receiving over 250 comments and 11k likes as of this writing.
