Leeds United striker Georginio Rutter was a summer transfer target for Borussia Dortmund, with the Bundesliga runners-up prepared to spend £25.2 million.

Georginio Rutter had a difficult start to life in West Yorkshire, having been relegated, but is now prospering under new management at Elland Road.
Could Rutter have abandoned Leeds?
Rutter, like nearly every other player in the Leeds team during the summer transfer window, had the option to leave the club, with bids on the table.
However, Ruhr24 (via Sport Witness) reports that Borussia Dortmund were eager on taking the Frenchman off Leeds’ hands after barely missing out on the Bundesliga title on the last day last season.
Dortmund offered Leeds a €25 million (£21.7 million) bid, which Leeds flatly refused after paying much more to get him in January.
It is also stated that Leeds rejected the sale outright, refusing to allow the striker depart for a lesser sum than they signed him for.
Dortmund, on the other hand, was willing to go higher than the proposal they submitted, indicating that they would have been willing to go as high as £25.2 million.
Predictions for Leeds vs. Watford?
We were not going to lose money on Rutter after signing him for £36 million just a few months ago.
He may not be the final product or the most consistent performer, but he is undeniably gifted and a crucial element of this team.
His performances have been quite encouraging thus far, and I’m confident Farke will continue to get the most out of him.
His worth might skyrocket if we are promoted.
