The offseason can provide some intriguing content around the NFL. For the New Orleans Saints, they just received a unique proposition regarding their all-time history from the league.

The NFL recently posted every NFL team’s Mount Rushmore (all-time) on their NFL Throwback YouTube channel. The Saints have plenty of candidates for the list, but they had to choose just four.

is the greatest quarterback in franchise history. He was also one of the top QBs of the most recent generation of signal-callers.

is tied with seven other players for most passing TDs in a game (7), as well as the most 5,000-yard passing seasons (5) and most consecutive games with a TD pass (54). He is also second all-time in single-season passing yards with 5,476 and career passing yards with 80,358.

was inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame and Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame recently, and Canton is in his reach in the coming years. His Saints HOF induction will happen during a game in the 2024 season.

is the top offensive lineman to ever dawn the black and gold.   Evans is the closest comparable, but   deserves the nod.

He was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 1990s and 2000s. The lineman was also a first-team All-Pro from 1994-1996 as a Saint.   was the definition of consistency throughout his NFL career, reaching seven Pro Bowls.

was inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame in 2008 and Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012.

Rickey Jackson
Jackson had six straight seasons totaling eleven or more sacks in New Orleans. Jackson made six Pro Bowls with the Saints. He held the title of being the franchise’s all-time sack leader until Cam Jordan took that role in 2022.

The Dome Patrol would have never existed without Jackson. Saints fans appreciated his energy and leadership throughout his time wearing black and gold. He’s a Saints legend. He’s a Saints Hall of Famer and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.

Cameron Jordan
He’s the all-time leader in sacks for the Saints. During his time in the pros, he’s been a leader for the Saints defense and a vocal part of the New Orleans community. His dominance against the NFC South stands out, too.

Jordan is an eight-time Pro Bowler and had multiple All-Pro seasons from 2017-2019. He’s ready for a bounce back season as a veteran in 2024. You can’t tell the history of the Saints without including Jordan’s impact on defense.

The Saints’ selections by the NFL made plenty of sense. You can argue a spot for guys like Marques Colston, Sam Mills, and Jimmy Graham, too.
