Following Leeds United’s promotion to the Premier League in the summer of 2020, Koch joined with them. During that period, he made 77 appearances across all competitions. But as soon as they were demoted to the second division, the center back started looking elsewhere.

Frankfurt ended up benefiting from the 27-year-old’s loan agreement, which was for the entire season. He has participated in every minute of every Bundesliga game thus far this season, allowing just three goals to be scored while advancing the team to ninth position as of this writing.

Now, there are rumors that his loan club may make the switch to a permanent one at the end of the current campaign.

Bild claims that Frankfurt may use the proceeds from the sale of Randal Kolo Muani to PSG to pay for summer purchases, with Koch a potential beneficiary.

Ever leaving Leeds United?
Koch was a good addition to Leeds’ Premier League lineup, although he never really made an impression. His reinstatement could be advantageous if the Whites were to obtain promotion back to the top division at the first opportunity.

However, it might be better for Koch and Daniel Farke’s side to relocate. There is a chance that they may sell the player for a comparable sum to recoup this cost, or perhaps make a profit, having paid about £13 million to buy the player from Freiburg just three years ago.

This might provide Leeds United with the opportunity to continue their rebuilding process and either strengthen their squad in preparation for another promotion drive should they fall short this season or strengthen their squad to increase their chances of staying in the division should they succeed in gaining promotion.
