Rangers have been given the good news that summer acquisition Kieran Dowell will return from injury for the League Cup tie against Livingston next week.
The midfielder, 25, has not been seen since the 2-2 Champions League Playoff match with PSV Eindhoven on August 22nd.
The absence of Kieran Dowell, one of the club’s most conspicuous absentees from the Europa League roster, would have no bearing on the match against Real Betis.
However, speaking before of the game, Michael Beale said that, while the Rangers are counting the cost of injuries to Danilo, Todd Cantwell, and Nico Raskin, Kieran Dowell is gradually improving.
“The injuries to the three mentioned, Danilo, Todd Cantwell, and Nico Raskin, aren’t ideal,” Beale said prior of the game to the press. “They’re three key players.”
“There’s a bit of good news around Dowell, we’re hoping he’ll be back by the Livingston game into the game with Aberdeen so we get another number back, but we still had 20 senior players today.”

With Rangers hosting Livingston at Ibrox next week (September 27), Kieran Dowell is expected to return from injury within the next seven days.
This is a huge help for Rangers, who have seen their injury problems put a pressure on Michael Beale’s squad.
Danilo, Todd Cantwell, and Nicolas Raskin will all be sidelined until at least the upcoming international break, putting the Rangers on a six-game losing streak.
The following games have low expectations, with Michael Beale under pressure to produce against Real Betis (H), Motherwell (H), Livingston (H), Aberdeen (H), Aris Limassol (A), and St Mirren (A).
The return of Kieran Dowell from injury is a sure-fire boost to the Rangers manager’s hopes, but with the player not selected in the Europa League squad, the player’s impact will be limited to the domestic front.
