Carson Beck, Georgia’s quarterback, is the early favourite in college football Heisman Trophy betting odds.
Spring practice for college football has concluded, and fans will now wait patiently over the next two months for the 2024 college football season. The Georgia Bulldogs have a team that appears to be built for a run at the national championship, and those lofty expectations are heavily influenced by what the Bulldogs keep in the quarterback room.
Carson Beck is coming off a successful first-year starting season. In 2023, Beck had 3,941 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions while completing 72.4% of his passes. He guided his team to an unblemished regular season record, but they fell just short of making the NCAA football playoffs after losing to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.
Many predict Beck to be not only one of the top quarterbacks in college football this season, but also the first quarterback selected in the 2025 NFL draft. For these reasons, Beck is currently the early favourite to win the Heisman Trophy this fall.
According to Vegas Insider, Beck has +750 odds to win the Heisman, tying him with Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers. Ohio State’s Will Howard, Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel, and Tennessee’s Nico Iamaleava are close behind them.
Stetson Bennett, who finished fourth in the 2022 Heisman voting, was the latest Georgia quarterback to come close to winning the award. The trophy was last won by a Bulldog in 1982, by running back Herschel Walker.
