Lucy Olsen, a Villanova transfer, officially signed with Iowa on Wednesday, according to UI Athletics.
Olsen, who finished third in the nation in scoring last season, announced her arrival in Iowa City last week. She officially put pen to paper on Wednesday.
“We are looking forward to welcoming Lucy into our programme this summer,” Iowa Head Coach Lisa Bluder remarked.
“She is an outstanding student-athlete with an impressive resume. Her skill level and demeanour matched exactly what we were looking for from the transfer portal. “It’s an exciting time to be an Iowa Hawkeye!”
Bluder will be hoping Olsen can fill the vacuum left by Caitlin Clark, who was selected first overall in the WNBA Draft last week.
Olsen averaged 23.3 points per game last season, trailing just Clark and USC’s JuJu Watkins.
Hannah Stuelke, Sydney Affolter, and Kylie Feuerbach return as significant players for the Hawkeyes. They also have the ninth best recruiting class, according to ESPN.
