The Dallas Cowboys front management looks content with possibly resetting the quarterback position in 2025. They still have 11 months to work out an extension with quarterback Dak Prescott, and the odds are that the two sides will reach an agreement before the next league year. The crowd, outraged by another of Jerry Jones’ snake oil sales pitches, this one using the deceptive “all-in” claim, is fed up with the club’s refusal to seek outside assistance. This is made worse by many free agent departures this summer, including Tyron Smith, Tyler Biadasz, Tony Pollard, and Michael Gallup from the starting lineup on offence, as well as important sub Dorance Armstrong from defence.
Regression appears to be clear, but with Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Tyler Smith, Zack Martin, Trevon Diggs, Daron Bland, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Micah Parsons still on the roster, pretending the cupboard is barren is a massive overreaction. All have made Pro Bowls, and the majority have made All-Pro teams. What if all of those players were not present? What if Dallas traded a few studs to bring in a new era? What would the haul be like, and how would the first two rounds of the draft play out?
In this iteration, with the other 31 clubs controlled by the Pro Football Focus mock draft simulator, Dallas searches for and finds a trade partner for their two most important offensive players, Prescott and Lamb, who have yet to receive extensions. We examine at the moves they could make if they were truly willing to rebuild the organisation, including seven rounds of choices and a first-round mock for the whole league.
