Taylor Rapp, a safety, has re-signed with the Bills for a three-year contract, the organisation announced on Friday.
The safety appeared in 16 games with four starts during his previous season in Buffalo. In his debut season with the Bills, Rapp recorded one interception, 45 tackles, two passes defensed, one tackle for loss, a half-sack, one fumble recovery, and one quarterback hit.
Rapp stated, “Buffalo is a special place.” “I believe that over the past few years, the league and the rest of the globe have begun to realise the potential of this club and organisation.
“Obviously that was something I was looking forward to in free agency last year was a place that fit me culture-wise but also fit my talents and my strengths on the field, and I think I found the place that I want to be here for the rest of my career.”
Rapp stated that in his second season in Buffalo, his background as Jordan Poyer’s and Micah Hyde’s backup last year would help him assume a more leadership role on the club.
“Some of the things I was able to learn last year about myself, it’s going to pay huge dividends fro my future wisdom,” Rapp stated. “Really looking forward to being able to use those valuable lessons and valuable information that I gained last year into this next year, but also for the rest of my career and even after football.”
Prior to joining the Bills, Rapp was a player with the Rams from 2019 to 2022. Rapp has participated in 73 games during his career and started 52 of them.
After leaving the University of Washington, he entered the league and has since recorded five interceptions, twenty-five passes defensed, nine tackles for loss, six quarterback hits, four fumble recoveries, one touchdown, one forced fumble, two sacks, and 368 tackles. His side has been able to run out the clock thanks to three of his ten interceptions.
The Rams selected Rapp with their first pick in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
