One game probably sticks out above the others for all of the college football video game lovers out there.

The final installment in the series would be the EA Sports NCAA Football 14. Bill Walsh College Football was its original moniker in 1993, and it eventually took on additional identities. Even with all of college football’s spectacle, the theme remains the same.

According to the following tweet—which, incidentally, is a fantastic video—it’s returning:

Hugh Freeze remained with what he had, despite the wishes of many Auburn supporters to go get a quarterback in the portal.

Robby Ashford chose to travel to South Carolina, therefore Auburn lost a quarterback to the gateway. Now, the Tigers have Payton Throne, Holden Geriner, Hank Brown, and Walker White. In 2024, one of these players will be Auburn’s starting quarterback unless Coach Freeze adds a quarterback during the upcoming portal window.

In a piece for 247Sports, Brad Crawford projected each SEC school’s starting quarterback for the next campaign. Thorne is expected to start for Auburn. Throne is ranked 14th among SEC quarterbacks projected to start by Crawford in FanDuel Sportsbook’s Heisman odds, just ahead of Blake Shapen of Mississippi State and Diego Pavis (quarterback for New Mexico State last year, who defeated Auburn) of Vanderbilt.

In the post “Will Hugh Freeze’s decision to let offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery go after one season benefit Payton Thorne in 2024?,” Crawford of 247Sports discussed Throne. That’s the aim after the Tigers’ passing game fell short of expectations last autumn. A portion of that is due to Thorne’s lack of confidence as a result of personnel problems at the playmaker spots. With an offence that failed to produce big plays and third-down conversions, Thorne’s 6.6 yards per attempt was the lowest of his career and equaled him for last place in the SEC with former Vanderbilt quarterback Ken Seals.”
