The Las Vegas Raiders are getting ready to bolster their lineup with draft picks in 2024.

Midway through the 2023 season, in an interim role, Coach Antonio Pierce established an identity that the Raiders hope to build upon. To the satisfaction of his players, he was given a permanent position due to the culture of toughness and competition he fostered.

Tom Telesco was then appointed general manager by the Raiders. Together, he and Pierce will choose which draft picks best complement Pierce’s philosophy and style.

Verse racked up 89 tackles, 29.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and 18 sacks in his two years in Tallahassee. He was twice named to the First Team All-ACC and an All-American twice.

Verse is a decent-sized 6-foot-4, 260-pound edge rusher in the NFL. Verse’s speed and explosiveness make him the most desirable prospect. He immediately gets off the ball and uses his quickness to surge up to engage and outmuscle an offensive lineman.

The entire verse is a powerful build for the upper and lower bodies. As he releases the snap, he drops low, giving himself an advantage over his opponent. When rushing the quarterback, he approaches it with great thought and precision.

Verse moves fluidly and with technical refinement. Pro Football Focus reports that Verse produced 62 pressures in 2023 compared to just 36 in the year prior. at all, he produced 151 pressures during his time at college.

He can yet get better as Verse’s run defender, even though he is an excellent pass rusher. Although his explosiveness off the ball is normally a plus, he occasionally misplays the run by overshooting into the backfield.

Only Dallas Turner of Alabama and Laiatu Latu of UCLA are likely to be better edge rushers in the draft than Verse. If he is available when the Raiders are selecting, he is expected to be a first-round pick and might be a great match in Las Vegas.

The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 25–27, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. The No. 13 overall pick is presently in the hands of the Las Vegas Raiders.
