Philadelphia (CBS) – Suddenly, the laughter between Philadelphia head coach Nick Sirianni and general manager Howie Roseman were gone. The pair was no longer smiling and making poor jokes about each other’s statements.

Instead, each of them spoke in a serious tone. The repercussions of losing six of seven games to close a season, as the Eagles became only the second team in NFL history to go 1-6 in their final seven games after a 10-1 start, one of the most dramatic late-season collapses in their 91-year history.

Sirianni’s work position was immediately jeopardised by the monumental collapse, and he had to prove to owner Jeffrey Lurie why he had chosen him in the first place.

Sirianni stated on Wednesday at the NovaCare Complex, “You’d better believe I’m thinking about how to reprove myself.” “I was a young coach who Mr. Lurie, Howie, and this organisation believed could do the job. I had to prove to myself that this individual could lead the organisation as they had asked, and I had to prove myself ever since.

While Sirianni is not on the hot seat for 2024, it certainly feels that way. Sirianni met with Lurie at the end of the season, which he described as “business as usual,” although this gathering differed from previous years.

Sirianni’s tone of voice made this clear. Sirianni must perform in 2024 or he will not be the Eagles’ head coach for much longer.

“Do I need to sell my vision? “No, because it was business as usual,” Sirianni replied. “But you’d better believe that after that 1-6 finish, after starting the way we started and doing the things we’ve done before, I’m thinking I’m going to show them right again, and we’re going to prove them right. We must reprove ourselves. “We have to go prove it again.”
