Kieffer Moore, a striker for Wales and Bournemouth, will cost Cardiff City up to six Championship clubs if they want to sign him this month.
The manager, Erol Bulut, is eager to add goals and quality to his offensive group before the end of this month, and the Bluebirds have made no secret of their desire to bring the forward back to the capital of Wales. Register here to receive our Cardiff City newsletter.
Due to City’s ban on paying player fees, the Cherries’ desire to sell Moore rather than loan him out proved costly, and Cardiff’s effort to re-sign Moore in the summer was unsuccessful.
In the run-up to the January transfer market opening, Cardiff has looked at both buying and loaning options, with Moore reportedly eager to return to south Wales. WalesOnline understands that Bournemouth’s stance in that regard has softened.
Cardiff is not the only team that admires the Premier League striker, though. According to The Sun, there is also interest from Middlesbrough, Leeds United, Ipswich Town, Sunderland, West Brom, and Birmingham City.
As always during the winter transfer window, a lot of teams are eager to bolster their offensive line in an effort to increase their goal total towards the conclusion of the season and meet their individual objectives. Cardiff has had trouble scoring goals from open play for a lot of years, but Moore showed during his final season with the team that he was just as skilled at scoring from set pieces as from loose play.
Moore’s departure from Bournemouth already seems imminent, given manager Andoni Iraola’s statement from last week that players who are dissatisfied with their playing time will probably leave.
“I think some of the players that are not having the minutes they want, they will ask for loans or departures to other places,” remarked the Spaniard.
“We will need to find new players to replace any departures. However, I don’t anticipate as much movement as there usually is in the summer.
