Ravens’ Deep Running Back Room Could Produce ‘The Next Raheem Mostert’

The Ravens boast a deep running back room – out of necessity due to injuries – and it’s possible the next NFL rushing phenom could come from Baltimore.

The running back narrative for the Ravens is a lengthy one that is dominated by injuries. However, every team in the NFL deals with injuries as a part of the game. That’s also the tale of the league.

Raheem Mostert, a running back for the Dolphins, is on fire after nine seasons in the NFL and a career marred by injuries. With three games remaining, he has now tallied a franchise-high eighteen touchdowns through the air. The Dolphins have led the AFC East this season, and he has been a key component of their success.

Yardbarker believes that J.K. Dobbins of Baltimore can replicate Mostert’s success for the Dolphins as a member of the Ravens.

Dobbins and Mostert are nearly the same in terms of physical attributes. Both stand 5 feet 10 inches tall, however Dobbins weighs one pound more (215 pounds) than Mostert. Mostert is regarded by many as the NFL’s fastest player. In 2020, he ran a touchdown run against the Jets at 23.09 mph, and as a freshmen, he ran a 4.34 40-yard sprint.”

Unfortunately, Dobbins’ career is locked in a hospital bed, much like Mostert’s. Over his first three seasons with the Ravens, Dobbins has only appeared in 27 games, including three postseason contests. Over the course of his first three years in the league, Mostert recorded a comparable 25 games.

After getting hurt against the Texans in Week 1, Dobbins is once again out for the season. The following season will see him become a free agent; if he stays in Baltimore, it will probably be on the now-famous “one-year prove it deal.” In the event that Dobbins recovers from his most recent injury and is healthy for a prolonged amount of time, the Ravens will be thrilled to have his output for the entire season and will pay him suitably.
