Due to a shoulder injury, only one offensive lineman for the Detroit Lions has not missed a game this season.

Penei Sewell, a right tackle, was limited in practice on Wednesday.

Sewell, who started 12 games at right tackle and two more at left tackle in lieu of an ailing Taylor Decker, has been a mainstay on the Lions’ injury-plagued offensive line this season.

In their 14 games this season, the Lions have started nine different offensive line combinations. The only other lineman to appear in all 14 games is Graham Glasgow, who spent the opening two weeks of the season backing up Halapoulivaati Vaitai and playing on special teams.

Offensive line coach Hank Fraley described Sewell as “mean out there.” “He sets the tone early and he’s physical and it’s fun to see.”

On Wednesday, there was minimal practice for linebacker Derrick Barnes (shoulder), defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike, fullback Jason Cabinda (knee), safety C.J. Gardner Johnson (pectoral), and cornerback Jerry Jacobs (hamstring) and tight end Brock Wright (hip).

On Wednesday, Cabinda and Gardner-Johnson resumed practice after being placed on injured reserve. Before they may participate in games, both players need to be added back to the 53-man roster.

Centre During practice, Frank Ragnow (knee/toe) participated fully.

In terms of fan polling for the Pro Bowl based on position, seven Lions players are still within the top 10.

Of the offensive tackles, Sewell is ranked fifth, followed by Ragnow in the ranks of centres, Sam LaPorta in the ranks of tight ends, Amon-Ra St. Brown in the ranks of receivers, Jared Goff in the ranks of quarterbacks, Aidan Hutchinson in the ranks of defensive ends, and Jack McQuaide in the ranks of long snappers.

With 175,772 votes, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa leads all players. Christian McCaffrey (131,108) and Brock Purdy (120,909), two teammates of the San Francisco 49ers, are next in line.

Voting for the Pro Bowl concludes on Monday. A third of the votes cast by coaches, fans, and players go towards selecting the players.
