Two players from Alabama’s frontcourt foul out in the Crimson Tide’s 85-82 loss at No. 6 Creighton on Saturday.
Alabama won the rebounding battle 37–32, but their dominance on the boards throughout the game came at a cost: 25 total fouls for the Crimson Tide compared to 16 for the Blue Jays.
Even so, there were some heroic moments in the defeat. Senior guard Mark Sears scored 19 points on 9 of 16 shots, pulled down four rebounds, and had an assist.
With less than ten seconds remaining and the score tied at 83-80, Creighton big Ryan Kalkbrenner brilliantly avoided a foul, setting up a basket for Sears that almost sealed the victory in the closing seconds.
Center Nick Pringle, who is six feet eleven and has the highest scoring average of the year, concluded the game with fifteen points on six of nine shots and seven rebounds.HALFTIME: Alabama44, Creighton 44 | The Crimson Tide frontcourt has scored 24 points thus far, with star player Grant Nelson accounting for just two of those points.
