Tony Cascarino has slammed Matheus Nunes for striking at Wolves in order to push a transfer to Manchester City.
On transfer deadline day, the midfielder departed Molineux for the Premier League winners for a sum of roughly £53 million.
He did not train following the Everton game, which was a major problem for Wolves.
He wanted to force a move, and he was ultimately successful in doing so.
The money from the sale was reinvested in four new players: Santiago Bueno, Enso Gonzalez, Tommy Doyle, and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.
But Nunes’ attitude has not gone unnoticed, with Cascarino mocking the Portuguese today…

The Nunes deal to City was discussed on talkSPORT today.
And Cascarino was unambiguous about his feelings regarding the 25-year-old’s actions.
“If you’re going on strike, you shouldn’t be paid at all,” he remarked. This should be illegal, in my opinion. Footballers who believe that going on strike will get them what they want are wrong. I would never go on strike under any circumstances, although I have relocated several times in my career. 99.9% of people would never do something like that.
“If I were a manager looking for a player and he went on strike at the club he was at… I’m not certain I’d want him. I’m not sure I’d want him if he wanted a move someplace else after that and you’re willing to go on striker.”
Nunes’ actions was disgraceful, but he was never with Wolves for an extended period of time.
He claims there is more to the tale, but he has yet to divulge any information.
So Wolves supporters can only judge the issue based on how it was presented publicly.
Nunes’ refusal to train was quite terrible.
