Solomon Alaimalo, an outside back in New Zealand Super Rugby, has been signed by the Wests Tigers for the 2024 campaign.

After spending several seasons playing rugby league with the Waikato Chiefs and, more recently, Canterbury in New Zealand’s National Provincial Championship, the 27-year-old has switched to rugby league.

The towering back, who arrived for his first preseason practice on Monday with his new teammates, will be a valuable asset to the team, according to coach Benji Marshall.

Solomon is an extremely explosive athlete with tremendous speed, power, and agility, so we’re thrilled to have him join the club, Marshall said.

“He is a man of great character who will also add leadership and experience to our group.”

Haumole Olakau’atu, a star second-rower, has signed a massive six-year contract extension with Manly that will keep him with the team through the end of 2031.

The 25-year-old, who has already signed for 2024 and 2025, is currently the player with the longest contract on the team and will play for the Sea-Eagles until he turns 33.

In 73 first-grade games since making his NRL debut for Manly in 2019, the Tonga international has scored 29 tries.

Kurt Capewell, a veteran back-rower, was released from the remaining portion of his contract with the Broncos and signed a three-year contract with the Warriors.

With one year remaining on his contract, Brisbane released the former Maroons representative and 2021 premiership winner, who will now join the team on a contract that will last until the end of the 2026 NRL season.

Kurt is a player of exceptional caliber and experience, and we’re excited to have him on board right away, stated Warriors general manager of recruitment, pathways, and development Andrew McFadden.

In addition to his abilities as a player, Kurt will be a great asset to the team as a mentor to the young back row players that the club produces.

Along with captain Tohu Harris, center Rocco Berry and second rower Jackson Ford signed contract extensions with the Warriors, the team also announced.
