Highsmith has quietly developed into a really excellent player.

For the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have just suffered two losses to teams that are both eight (!) games below.500, this is still troubling news. Pittsburgh would hold the tiebreaker if they defeated the Baltimore Ravens in Week 18; they are currently two games behind the leaders in the AFC North and half a game out of the wild card mix.
