So far in the 2023–24 NFL season, quarterback Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions are having a great time. After defeating the New Orleans Saints on the road last week, the team has an amazing 9-3 record. They are comfortably leading the NFC North and are in the running for the top overall seed in the NFC, and Goff appears to be playing some of his best football while wearing the Lions uniform.

It may be easier said than done for a franchise that is as relevant as it has been in a very, very long time, but Goff still wants to make sure that his team does not get complacent with their current run of success.

Recognize that everyone is kind of in the mindset that they need to win these games and that they all have goals in mind. According to ESPN’s Eric Woodyard, Goff stated, “No one’s out of it.” Since everyone is playing to win, you must recognize that you need to increase your level of urgency while maintaining a process-oriented mindset and having faith in your daily practice routine. However, you do tend to become a little more intense this late in the year.

The Lions’ quest for an NFC playoff first-round bye against the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and San Francisco 49ers will undoubtedly depend heavily on their level of urgency. The Lions’ next road game is scheduled for December 10 against the Chicago Bears. The kickoff for that game is set for 1:00 PM ET.
