The former University of Washington undrafted quarterback was able to move the ball against a Jacksonville team that, following a successful postseason run in 2017, has high expectations for this season.

It should come as no surprise that Jayden Daniels of LSU eclipsed Caleb Williams of USC, the current Heisman Trophy winner, to become the first-team quarterback for the Tigers with almost 5,000 passing yards. Just three

players—Iowa punter Tory Taylor, Notre Dame offensive lineman Joe Alt, and Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon—were chosen unanimously.

Between the two teams of 55 selections, 32 programs are represented in total, with one tie. Two players from each of Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Texas, and Iowa made the first team. With five All-American selections, the Crimson Tide led all programs; the Longhorns, Bulldogs, and Missouri followed with four each.

Daniels was a huge asset to the LSU offense, accumulating almost 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns in all. With 1,134 yards rushing this season, he set a record for all FBS quarterbacks and solidified his place as one of the four finalists for the Heisman Trophy.

With 1,614 yards on the ground at the end of the regular season, Gordon was the FBS’s top rusher. The majority of that occurred following the Oklahoma State running back’s limited usage during the first three weeks of the season. Additionally, Gordon leads the country with 20 rushing touchdowns. This season’s most touching tale in college football may be Schrader’s victory in the Burlsworth Trophy, which is awarded to the best player in the country who began his career as a walk-on. Spurring Missouri to a breakthrough season, Schrader ran for 1,499 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Nabers was a vital target for the LSU offense, amassing 86 receptions for a nation-best 1,546 yards receiving. The Tigers’ star player also recorded 14 touchdown receptions. Harrison Jr. isn’t among the top 30 wide receivers, but he did manage an amazing 18.07 yards per reception on average for Ohio State, in addition to 14 touchdown receptions. With 81 catches for 1,428 yards and 13 touchdowns in the Huskies’ potent passing attack, Odunze eclipsed 1,000 yards receiving for the second straight year at Washington.

Despite missing three games in the regular season, Bowers was Georgia’s best pass-catcher in the end. The 6-foot-4, 240-pound tight end led the Bulldogs with 56 receptions for 714 yards and six touchdowns.
