In Week 13, the Denver Broncos (6-6) ended their five-game winning streak on the road against the Houston Texans (7-5) 22-17.

At the start of the game, both teams traded 3-and-outs. Then, on their second drive, the Texans were the first to score, making a 29-yard field goal.

Houston increased their lead to 10-0 after yet another Broncos punt and a touchdown run by Dameon Pierce from three yards out. Linebacker Alex Singleton’s 15-yard penalty for pushing Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud after a play was blown dead helped spark that scoring drive.

Early in the second quarter, Houston made it 13-0 after a third Denver punt and another field goal. Afterwards, the Broncos added a 34-yard field goal by Wil Lutz to trim the halftime deficit to 13-3.

After the break, Denver had the ball back, but Riley Dixon punted again, his fifth of the game, and the Texans quickly added another field goal to make the score 16-3. Houston recovered a fumble for a touchdown, giving the Broncos a gift, but the score was overturned on a forward progress call.

Afterwards, to make it 16-10, Denver quarterback Russell Wilson found wide receiver Courtland Sutton for a 45-yard touchdown pass. Wilson intercepted a pass that was tipped at the line of scrimmage during the Broncos’ subsequent drive, giving the Texans a favorable field position. After that, Stroud found Nico Collins for a three-yard touchdown pass, making the score 22–10. Fabian Moreau then intercepted Houston’s next two-point attempt.

Then, Denver quarterback Russell Wilson connected with wide receiver Courtland Sutton for a 45-yard touchdown pass to extend the lead to 16-10. On the next drive, the Broncos attempted a pass, but Wilson picked it off at the line of scrimmage, giving the Texans a good field position. The score was then 22–10 after Stroud connected with Nico Collins for a three-yard touchdown pass. Houston’s subsequent two-point attempt was then intercepted by Fabian Moreau.
